yep, this is the best you find we had it to, http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=239619&an=0&page=0#Post239619 the post war norma load make 579 m/sec with a 12,7 gramm/ 200 grains 8mm S roundnose. thats the maximum what could be safe in the rolling block or they made a higher load then. this was because the swedish hunting law asking for 2000 joule min. energie at 100 meter to hunt moose in this time and they want to use the rolling block because it was a common cheap farmer gun then. you should be under this with your load. |

Tried 14 grains trailboss with 196 grain full metal jacket projectile today averaged 1190 fps for 5 shots 14 grains was a 70 % load so will keep working up a grain at a time |
With top-end loads, it should be producing in the neighbourhood of 28,000psi. |

Yeh looking for a accessible powder to get me around 1800 fps with a 200 grain projectile |

Likely H4895 or Varget. Hodgdon says the H4895 (AR2206H) can be loaded to 50% or 60% of it's max loading. ADI / Hodgdon Propellants ADI Powder Hodgdon / IMR naming Trail Boss / Trail Boss AR2207 / H4198 AR2219 / H322 BM2 / Benchmark Bench Mark 8208 / 8208 XBR AR2206H / H4895 AR2208 / Varget AR2209 / H4350 AR2213H, AR2213SC / H4831 / H4831SC AR2217 / H1000 AR2225 / Retumbo |

Don't know if this helps, but here's reloading data for 8x58RD from the Norwegian Ladeboken. Only Vhitavouri powders though, but quick load might solve it. |

Quote: Question, does it have a small diameter smokeless firing pin? If so, that would keep me to light loads, something under 30,000psi. & closer to 25,000psi. Trail Boss will do that with a jacketed bullet and 100% load. A .300 Win Mag loaded 100% Trail Boss with a 180gr. jacketed bullet made 28,000psi for Hodgdon. |

the 1950s/60s Norma load for the swedish rolling block make 579 m/sec with the 200 grains softpoint iirc, a E 100 of 200 Kgm was than minimum for hunting elk in sweden so Norma made the ammo it reach this benchmark. this was a careful load in my eyes the maximum in the old rolling block to be safe. |

So - 1,900fps with a 200gr. bullet. 1,603.6fpe = 2,174.2 joules. Unit converter free app on my phone. |
