Don't know. I have an Antique firearms page on Facebook and one of our members posted it there asking for info. Short throw so short cartridge. Looks to be around 30 or 32 but might be larger.

I'm guessing that it's a pretty rare thing. I've never heard of one before. No one on our site, which has over 10,000 members, knows anything about it either.

Martini's contribution to the rear hinged dropping block action was how the lever functioned and cocked the action.
I would not call this a Martini. Perhaps a modified Peabody at best. But I am not sure about that as i have not studied the Peabody enough to be sure.

Wow......most unusual that one!
The internals would be rather different from the 'standard' Martini that's for sure; but if the operating rod could be attached to the tumbler (somehow) then you could do away with the operating lever completely.
You could also make this operating rod time with the extractor as well to assist in extraction.
Not an easy task for sure!
