Partridge cheap!

Watching the TV show "Alex Polizzi: Chef for hire" and it was said partidge for the restaurant trade in the UK was very cheap to buy, GBP3, I think for a bird! Obviously sold from game shot birds. So different here in Australia where pheasant and partridge are very expensive.

A good reason why we should have legal shooting of bred birds released for shoots! Plus the sport of course.

Re: Partridge cheap!

When a youngster, growing up in South Western Ontario, the "pheasant" Township license was an extra $3.00.
That was $3.00 to hunt pheasant in only one township. At that time, there were no reared pheasants, just the wild stuff.
So - that's where poaching began - and stopped, actually, for me.
Once I hit 18 or so, I could afford the license. We ate quite a few pheasants prior to that.
