Leica Geovid HDR 2700 & Swarovski EL Range: info required

Dear All

I have planned to change my binos/rangefinder; I need a new model providing with equivalent horizontal range but do not require Bluetooth function for connection to mobile apps via mobile phone.

I am thinking of either a Leica Geovid HD-R 2700 (not the 3200 version that includes Bluetooth function) or a Swarovski EL Range (pre-2021 model).

Does anyone on the Forum uses either model and, if yes, is willing to share any feedback?

Louis

Sorry I can’t comment on your specific question. However SWAROVSKI offer outstanding after sale service for me in AUSTRALIA. The more shit built into these things the more they cost to run.

I have used Swarovski bino's since 1993.. have used the EL's and EL Range for the past 15 years or so.. have had the EL Ranges since 2013--personally I really like them.. very clear,, crisp images.. the ranging aspect works very well also.. Have never had any issue with any of them..

Currently have 3 different pairs of Swarovski's along with one of their spotting scopes..My wife uses the 8x32's at the ranch a lot for checking cattle.. AND I used them almost exclusively for bow hunting.. small and compact..and frankly all I need for power..

Not the exact model of Leica, however I have had the Leica Geovid R rangefinder 10x42 for about 5 years now and am very happy with them. Crisp, clear, and bright; they just work.

I've got an old model Leica Geovid Rangefinder binoculars. A simple model, has a small rectangle in the vision and a button. It gives you the metres when the button is pushed. A forums member working for a gunshop here sold me it for a big discount, like to others at the time. A month later the new model came out which had something extra in terms of angle of the shot as well.

A fine set of clear good quality binoculars with the range finder included.

I still use my older Swarovski non range finder binoculars a lot as well, in 8x42.

The Leicas are my only form of rangefinder.

I’ve had several rangefinding binoculars.

First off Zeiss RF 10x45, they were really bad in low light compared with other binos.

Leica 10x40(42?) banana shaped binos with memory card. Excellent rangefinding and trajectory, but really sucked in low light conditions.

Finally EL-Range 10x40 from Swaro, pre-21, which is THE hunting binoculars!!!! They Excel in compactness and low light conditions. They are the best I have had to date.

Swapped it for the New edition, and it is also crystal clear and excel in low light conditions. Measure very well under all conditions.
Outer surfaces seems a bit cheaper than the other one?
Haven’t used the tracking function yet, but will use it when Tahr-hunting on the west coast of New Zealand. Finding the game shooting across gully in that forest makes finding the game a bit hard sometimes....
