Thanks for this amazing pic.
If you gents want to see doubles in action, watch the old Tarzan films with Johnny Weismuller. You'll see the gun bearers carry a variety of doubles including 8s and 4s. Some nitro doubles, too.
If any of you gents have old pics like the one in the OP, please share. They are a look into a world that will never be seen again.

I'd say the 'Ted Roosevelt look - alike' at the left looks a bit toasted.

At the risk of having 'done this one to death', here's my Granddad (John F. Easton), at center, with his Mannlicher Schoenauer M1910 Takedown. He was a 'Goodyear Man' (Wingfoot) stationed in Ceylon, then Singapore until the Japanese Empire moved in.

if so roosevelt was inspired by him not the other way
ted r. was light years away from africa or in this case india in 1891 or not

in this pic there is some likeness but also that he was a rich east cost kid. typical WASP, in the beginning it was more playing the hard westerner because he came from new york what was maybe a dishonour in his own eyes.
it seems fashion and attitude were typical for the time.

That 2nd last pic where Teddy is wearing the furs.. is that a Bullard in his hands I spy? God that's nice... never knew he had one.

Yes - Balland long range - could have been anything up to .45 2 7/8" chambering which depended on the loading, .45-100-500 to .45-120-550).

Theodore Roosevelt grew up an asthmatic, bespectacled, sickly child. He barely survived adolescence, which likely contributed greatly to his later 'overcompensations'.
By all accounts the scrappy (he was an avid boxer) 'Easterner' impressed the 'locals' when he went to the Dakotas as a young adult and earned the respect of the rough and ready types. Many of the men that he met while 'out west' would later eagerly join with Roosevelt's 'Rough Riders' and followed his command at Kettle Hill in the San Juan Heights of Spanish Cuba.
'The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt' (by Edmund Morris) is a good read.

As an adult Theodore Roosevelt despised the 'Teddy' nickname, though family members had affectionately referred to him as 'Teedie' when he was very young.

95 or 115? If I recall the Bullard 1886 was made in both. I'd love a 115..

Ash,
I assume it was a 115, Bullard just marked the caliber on the barrel. I found a .45 cal. deluxe at a pawn shop in Duluth at a good price but was on my way to Canada so couldn't bring it with me. On my return, I stopped in to buy it but it was gone. I'm still kicking myself!

I stand corrected - bit sharper hump on the rear of the action, and of course, different guts.
COTW notes the .50-115 Bullard of 1886 (semi-rimmed) was chambered in the repeating rifles - Lever action, and 'perhaps' in the SS. It had a very slight shoulder, .577"dia. necked to a .547" neck, .015" per side.
