Swivel guns

Poking around the net searching for 'stuff' I came upon this excerpt from one the colonies papers way back years ago and thought it interesting how game birds were seen then as opposed to today.

Some of the Mung beans should note a few lines about numbers on the lake.

That is interesting gryphon.
I well remember the game regulations back in Ontario when I was first hunting legally - 1955 as a 15 year old. The regulations, which I had to know to get my hunting license, stated that "swivel guns are illegal to use or possess".

My father told me as a child he used to go out with his Grand father gathering ducks with a punt gun for the commercial markets in Melbourne in the 1920's and 30's, that was in the Tatura Rushworth area.
