Both are very common in our state.. NO rattlesnakes at the ranch... elevation seems to keep them out of that area..however lots of cats..bobcats and lions.. which means there are plenty of other game animals around to keep them fed..
I have watched bobcats before from a distance..normally they are very evasive..shy.. However one day in eastern MT while hunting deer I walked to within 40 yards of one as he looked at me..big male.. like most other cats they are very curious..which is also their downfall when trapping them..
Neat video--thanks for posting

Cute! Quick, too. No bobcats here, lynx though and lions. Garter snakes is about it for those. Some up to 5' long - but that is rare. Found a skin shed in one of the handgun bays at the range, roughly 3" in diameter and 5' long. I've never seen a live one that big, usually only a couple feet at most.

I think such a snake is just the right challenge for the reflexes of a cat. you wonder how such an animal know how to take a poison snake - to bite just behind the head where its unable to bite back.

Yes - and not bite the poison sacks on the side of the head. The cat was quite good with it's claws.
