They are selling a large number of .450 Bushmasters for the Michigan allowance of a certain length straight walled case in what was normally a shotgun zone. Before this many were taking 45/70 and cutting the case back to meet the 1.8" case length limits. Reports are favorable.

Interesting - trimming 1/10" off my 35" bl. Sharps .45 1.9" (.45/60) makes no difference in it's performance.
48.0gr. Benchmark makes 1,850fps with 405gr. Remington FP & put 11 shots into 1 1/4", with 10 of those in 7/8".
I pulled the 9th, so fired 2 more to make the 10 shot group under an inch. Soule tang sight with Sharps aperture front.
GM bl. 18" twist.

One of my favorite cartridges is the 458 2" American. A 400 grain bullet at 2100 fps is pretty potent just like Frank Barnes said it would be back in 1962.
