Zettler percussion rifle

Just lucked into a new rifle today.
Still haven't found a new place to host photos, but this is the matching gun that I found at auction for quite a bit less:

Zettler auction

Bore is in fair shape and the rifle needs some TLC, but looking forward to getting it shooting again.

Apparently Zettler bros were a shop in NY that did quite a bit of work on schuetzen rifles. This one isn't a schuetzen, but it does seem to be a terrific hunting rifle.

Any help with a hosting site for pix would be great. Having issues with Hunt101.

thanks

Tom

Re: Zettler percussion rifle

What calibre, Tom?

Scrubbing the bore with a bit of WD40 in a patch of Scotch-Brite, really tight in the bore over a jag can help many bores slick up a bit.

to me, appears a typical Euro hunting rifle - well done.

Re: Zettler percussion rifle

Never thought of using Scotchbright, but sounds like a good idea.
