I doubt Manton made anything in 20mm |

of course it was a 10 bore rifle then |

Metric and inch can be mathematically converted but they are not interchangeable. A 10 bore slug is different that 20mm bullet. 10 bore is .775 or 19.68 mm 20mm is .787. Could this really be a musket and not a bore gun? A .75? It also has been restocked, and poorly-look at the fit of the lock plate to bolster and barrel; and fit of hooked breech to barrel. |

seller says "zirka 20mm" what means cirka or around 20 mm and tells me he did not realy take care for the correct diameter. must have been a 10 bore in the old days and I dare to say that it would not be easy to find two 10 bore's with the exact same diamter. and yes its a rifled barrel |

Quote: Not well done is right. The drip rail fit to lock plate is very poor, as is the breech plug to tang fit as you noted. A rifle barrel I'm sure - and the calibre might have been enlarged somewhere along with line, freshed or re-cut larger. The lock and sotck doesn't seem to fit the size well. I've seen pictures (none closeup & personal, unfortunately) of Sporting Rifles up to 6 bore - .91 cal, where the barrel size was not evident, the gun's actual geometry being perfect. |
