Here is my little 8x57 mauser.I know you guys like these old girls and figure i would share.Shes all original and i dont think i will refinish her anytime soon.Cant wait to take her for a walk and have a look see for bear/deer up on the mountain.1917 Amberg shoots and handles great.Its my first Mauser.

Nice rifle, where do you guys find these old Mausers? Around here we get the worn out military rifles that looked like they were dragged behind a truck.
I built a similar rifle on an Obendorf action using one of the Midway stocks and a Douglas barrel in 7x57 a couple of years ago. It's just fun to carry through the woods, no scope, long barrel (26") and for some reason it feels right coming to the shoulder.
Hope you are happy together for years to come.
