Mauser rimfire rifles - special grades?

Does anyone know whether Mauser made any ‘deluxe’ versions of its rimfire rifles, such as the 410b?
I visited George Caswell the other day and was looking over some of the treasures in his wonderfully cluttered shop - a Purdey .369 on one shelf, Holland doubles on another, and bolt action rifles from the 20’s - Hoffmans, Mausers, Griffins…. a delectable Graham & Sons 12 bore SxS.
I was talking about Mauser .22s and George produced a 410b that he said he’s been keeping for years and has never listed for sale. It looked like a standard 410b except that the wood was exceptional and the stock shape slightly more streamlined through the wrist and pistol grip. It had a pistol grip cap and what looked like an original Mauser buttplate. The piece looked brand new. I told him it looked like a high grade restock but he insisted it was a Mauser stock.
Could it be an original Mauser 410b with special order features?

Mauser Bolt Rifles by Ludwig Olson says that some of the Mauser 22 RF bolt rifles did come with walnut stocks and chequering. A photo of a 410B shows a nice stock with chequered grip and forend (instead of plain grooved forend), butt plate but not a grip cap.

According to Speed, Mauser introduced the slim style stock with grip cap at the very end of 1939. I have one that was proofed prior to April 1, 1940. I also have a standard style MM410B and the two stocks are vastly different. The slim stock has checkering on both grip and fore end, It has a plastic or horn grip cap, and the stocks on the slim rifles were not stamped with a Mauser cartouche on the right side of the butt stock. Due to the timing, it is doubtful that Mauser made very many of these rifles.

Thanks for that info.
I wish I had taken a photo of the rifle but now that I think of it I don’t recall looking for the cartouche. I didn’t have the proper glasses so I didn’t really examine the markings or serial number either. I have owned many 410b’s over the years and still have several but I’ve never encountered one with this later stock. The stock also had a cheek piece similar to the Model B.
I guess what George has is a mint example of the very latest version of this rifle, quite a little prize.
