250-3000 short action..Kurz?

Interested in this Mauser that appear's to be a short action.Would this be a Kurz.

Well, it does look short...

Definitely shorter than a std. M98, and shorter than a SR Mexican 98. It looks about the right length for a Kurz, but the bolt handle does not look right to me for an Oberndorf commercial Kurz, and neither does the trigger guard or the striker nut.

Perhaps it is a military action that somebody shortened by cutting & welding. Or maybe the bolt & guard were replaced.

There should be serial numbers and proof marks that would tell a knowledgeable collector if the receiver is an Original Oberndorf Kurz.

Where would they usually make the cut if it was shortened?Look's like the scope base was made to fit.

This one was most likely shortened and joined in the thumb slot.
Also, all (but one anyway) genuine Kurz actions were small ring actions.
Look inside the rails and take the action out of the stock to inspect for a welded joint. Some were done very well but you can usually find evidence of shortening.
