Just picked up a 25-06 built on a 1909 Argentine action. Has Durham's name stamped on barrel. Googled for him and see that he was a custom gunsmith and a wildcatter mentioned in PO Ackleys book (vol 1 supposedly, I don't have the book). People knew him as Charlie Durham. Worked in Denver area (Aurora). Anyone familiar with his work? I'm fairly new to Mausers, but to my eye his work seems competent, but not top-notch. Then again he may just have been responding to his client's desires and pocketbook. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian |
