Just double checking...

Hi All,

Looking at building a 275 Rigby on a 98 SR action I have.

Likely will order a LW barrel

From my research, it seems that the 98 SR thread = M 96 thread

ie

.980"
12 TPI

So a barrel factory threaded for 96 will be the go - saving the smith from having to chase threads down on a 98 LR threaded barrel

Am I correct?

TIA

Mark

Re: Just double checking...

Principally you are correct.
Supposed your SR 98 action is not SR with LR threading (A Kar 98A for example)

Re: Just double checking...

Thanks a lot - I have measured my SR action and thread diameter is indeed .980"

Thx
