Hope we get to see more photos of this rifle of yours Gundog01! Very unusual calibre - would love to see what see could do in the field! It would be a shame not to re-scope this old girl, but what would you put back on her (if you did) & are modern replacement mounts still available or are these all hand fitted? |

Sorry for the terrible pics, I had to snap fast ones before I left for the airport, I will try and get some more by Friday when I return. It is an it Ed. Kettner Cöln Suhl, I plan on getting mounts made for it one day soon, I just need to find someone who is taking on the work. I would most likely put on a new German short tube optic for larger game and get this rifle up and ready for a hunt as soon as possible. |

Quote: follow the link I give https://www.gunbroker.com/item/778848385 the scope mount is hand fitting If I had the rifle here it would be possible to set another scope on the rifle for 200 euro but in the states its hard to find someone who can do it. |

NECG has fitted claw mount rings for me in the past. |

Quote: Nowhere! A case for an advanced handloader. You have to get a set of reloading dies, a lathe, .45-90 brass. Turn the bases to rebated rimless, fl size. Trim to 60 mm. Get or make some 11.2 mm = .440" bullets. .45" bullets may be swaged down. the original 1934 DWM load was a 21.5 g = 332 gr steel jacketed bullet ahead of 4.00 g = 62 gr Rottweil #5 smokeless powder for 680 m/s = 2230 fps (72 cm = 28" test barrel) |

45-90 is not the best basic case because base diameter is under 12,8mm and the base diameter for the 11,2x60 is 13,00 mm like the mother case 11,15x60R Mauser 71. absolut best basic case for this round is the 458 Win Mag but any other of this belted cases will work as well. I have got a lot of 300 once fired 300 Win mag cases and need two days to form this into 11,2x60 Schüler. 24 differents steps and lost less the 10 of the 300 but if you buy brass I recommand 458 Win Mag. |

An excerpt from a Nitro Express post from pwm of 2005: "The 11,2x60 can be made from any brass from 300 win Mag to 458 win mag. You have to cut the belt from the case and trim the rebated rim to 8mm Mauser dim.. Best is the 458 Win Mag, annealing, full length resizing and trimming to 60mm – ready. Have found some 300 Win Mag cases, will also anneal this brass and blow it out with a fire form load in the chamber. " |

fully agree with pwn words because its my older name before a crash bullets: 330 grains softpoint from Wim Degol in belgium 350 grains Hornady .458 swaged down to .440 330 grains lead bullet, iirc a Lyman mould swaged from .458 to .440 230 grains fullmetall for the 45 ACP swaged from .451 to .440 -best target bullet you can get 230 grains hollow point 185 grains hollow point sierra swaged form .451 to .440 11,15x60R Mauser( reloaded) DWM factory 11,2x60 Schüler rare Horneber case 11,2x60 loaded with the 330 grains Degol bullet case made from 458 Win Mag loaded with a 270 grains Delsing bullet case made from 300 Win Mag DWM headstamp Horneber case without headstamp the case made from 458 Win Mag and the case made from 300 Win Mag I recommend the 458 Win Mag load my ammo with a RCBS 11,15x60R Mauser 71 die set because it was there but if you order a set take the ch4d 11,2x60 Schüler die |

Quote: Before turning on the lathe I'd be checking with Bertram to see if they make brass. They list 11.2x72 Schuler - which from memory is just the long version made for the colonies, as well as the .45 Blaser (11.5x55) which is just the modern revamp with a shorter case and easier to find bullet diameter |
