A Tauscher Import to the US I guess
Looks like having been sandblasted ( at least on the pictures).

Definitely looks to have had some work done possibly to restore rusted and pitted surfaces. Seems the small parts; screws, magazine latch, safety wing, rear sight etc. have been flame blued after having been cleaned up and polished, typical colouring when steel is heated to blue. Rest of rifle does look to have been sand blasted. Colour wise a bitzer but a nice original and could be properly restored I guess. Should be a nice shooter.

Somewhat of an anomaly: a pre-World War I serial number, but with a post World War I style double set trigger. Also, a post WW I Type A stock. I suppose the rifle could have been sent back to the factory for an upgrade after the war, but Type A's were meant for export, so that doesn't really make sense either.
A nice looking rifle, in any case.

Already posted the url of my first post here over on Blaserbuds to get some cross views happening but the page url seems to have changed

Please excuse the Newbie to Type A & B's question but what features are on an A stock rather than a B stock?
And am I correct that Type A usually had a different set of sights to the ones used here?

justcurious has it nailed. Type B for sure. They were available with the horn fore end cap. The rear tangent sight is a giveaway. Double set triggers were added at a later date. ( see Speeds book, pg.408 )
