Bidding on/Importing guns from Germany(Egun) to the USA?

There are always mausers I would like to purchase on Egun.de, but I am in the US, is there an agent in Germany who could handle the bidding and logistics of exporting the firearm if I had an importer I wanted to use?

Thank you.

The export from Germany ( bidding/shipping etc. ) is not really a problem.

The greatest problems you will encounter you will find is getting the import license for the US.

Especially for Mausers ( with thumb cutout ).

What do you think the best way to bid out of country is? I always find guns I have to have on Egun, thank you!

Commercial Mausers are importable regardless of the thumb cut slot.

Is that a a recent change in ATF policy. Admittedly I have been out of the loop for years, but for a long time any thing with a cutout was considered military, even if sporting configuration.

I've imported many thumbcut mausers. As long as they have someone else's name on them they have been good. i.e. Jeffery, Westely Richards and so on.

Here's another vote for Katja Triebel. I imported some brass and loading dies through her company some years back. No problem at all. Good communication. Just beware of the significant permitting costs and bureaucratic delays.

I recently jointly imported some firearms from Germany. I wish we HAD used Triebel's services again. The guy who was the agent this time somehow managed to smash one of the stocks and also lost a scope and mounts, that were photographed on the gun when it was collected. The package only arrived here in New Zealand 18 months later, after my friend was back in Germany and could get the order finally sent himself. This agent has since apparently got out of this business. I wonder why?

My friend has since found another replacement Steyr stock on Egun but the vintage Hensoldt scope and especially the custom-made claw mounts will prove very difficult for him to replace.

I had suggested he use Katja Triebel, but someone had recommended this other agent.

So be very careful who you choose.

I was forgetting about Krico as export agents. Thanks for reminding me.

From what I recall NECG will import into the US. Might be worth contacting them.
