John Rigby & C0. 1997-2010 Paso Robles, California
|
|
I have been looking at a simply magnificent 416 Rigby built on Magnum Mauser Square Bridge Action the rifle has the Paso Robles, California address. Disparaging remarks are abundant concerning this period in Rigby's history. The rifle I am looking at is flawless, it has all the niceties one would expect. The action has German proofs, does anyone know who built these bolt action rifles? Where did the components originate? Thank you.

FRANK ,,the paso robles bolt guns are just as nice as much of what was being built prior to rigby closing in england ,,could be prechtl actions or rehire johhanson,,most people did not like the double guns but the bolts are as good as anything else out there being built by custom makers in the US.......PAUL

The Paso Robles firearms I saw (photos) which were much disparaged were mostly or seemed to be rebuilt or re-decorated Merkel double rifles with a much much higher price. Sometimes not well upgraded at all.
Can't remember if I ever saw a bolt action Paso Robles rifle example.
