New Old stock zkk 602

I just recently got the brno bug after admiring one at local gun store. about a month ago I found one localy that was purchased overseas and brought in to country. I had done business with the guy before so decided to take a look. Its an Like new brno 602 rechambered ib 460 weatherby magnum. I dont think its ever been fired as grease is still not completely cleaned out and machining oil is still in action. the wood is of the blonde variety but in excellent condition. The question is has anyone evr ran across such a gun. I have searched the internet and have not found anything. Is it safe?, Is it worth anything. I should say first that I purchased it for $1000 US and its in %100 Like new condition.

If it was still in .458 Winchester, it would be worth more than in it's current chambering, imho.

Re: New Old stock zkk 602

My first 602 was imported by Bauska in early '80's and i bought it from Lester in '88 when I visited on my honeymoon. It was in a huge pile of BRNO's he had at the time. They where just starting into building their BBK-02. I bought one of the as well.

That 602 was still packed with shipping grease and the "458 win" on the box flap was crossed out and "460 wby" written in red ink marker. Lester told me that BRNO chambered about 100 in 460 and 378.

Years later I rechambered a pile of ZKK and CZ's to 460wby, as well 460 G&A and lots in 458Lott.

I have had personal ones in above mentioned 460wby, a ZKK 458 rechambered to Lott, a ZKK rechambered to 458-3" express and a factory CZ 458 Lott

Re: New Old stock zkk 602

The ones that Bauska handled would be so marked. Not to say it could no, but if it originated from overseas, probably not. Remember the pre-CZ company was very willing to do "custom" work as well. I no longer own it (sadly) but had a post-64 M-70 winchester that came from Uganda. Sometime in its life it was sent to BRNO and rebarreled with a fine podi steel barrel in their contour and length. Intergral sight base, banded front site, all of it.

As to the set trigger there was a seller on GB in Fountain Valley Ca. under the name of ZDENO who had a bunch of NOS parts.

Do whatever you like to the stock. They have no real collector value.
