Bell's 275 Rigby Am. Rifleman article

I just went back to the Oct. 2010 issue of the American Rifleman to look at The Bell/Ruark/Selby Rigby and noticed something strange.
The rifle pictured throughout the article has a different serial number than the rifle on the Westley Richards invoice which was apparently the receipt for Bell's rifle when Ruark bought it while in London.
Any thoughts?

I haven't seen the article, but could it be that the rifle has both Mauser and WR serial numbers?

The rifle does have both Mauser and Rigby numbers - the London Westley office was just the broker for the sale of Bell's rifles so they wouldn't have put any numbers on the rifle itself.
Perhaps the receipt had a W.R. stocking number instead of a serial but I wouldn't think so.
