.275 Rigby London Best takedown

A .275 London Best takedown, that’s admired by many. This classic is modernised by incorporating a removable barrel takedown system offering practicality without compromising accuracy and aesthetics. The proud owner of this rifle requested a whitetail to be engraved on the floorplate, which was completed by our in-house engraver Geoffrey Lignon, set alongside large open scroll engravings, with a stippled background. #RIGBY #GUNMAKING #LONDONBEST #TAKEDOWN #MADETOBEUSED

Very very nice !!!!!! I hope the new owner gets out this fall and puts it to good use. A great Rifle in a very usable cartridge.

One very spiffy piece of kit there!
Amazing work by the crew at Rigby, fantastic layout in their gun box - no wasted space!
Those green canvas covers are what really protect the whole show, I wonder if we could get a few more pictures of those if possible?

Re: .275 Rigby London Best takedown

I like the case and cover as well. I think a zip on cover is better. If actually flying a snap on cover looks like it might come off.

These cases are more for car use. Real works of gunmzking accessory art. I have some old frayed ones and modern generic ones. A bespoke one or three would be nice.

In the old days I had a duffel with a bottom section I could fit a takedown case in. Hassle free anonymous travelling. I remember forgetting to declare my rifle on an internal flight or two. Never declared my rifle going into Hwange National Park. Don't think it was allowed to bring it in. Take a rifle into hotels without any hassles. Takedown case in a duffel or suitcase.

Ammo in a small locked case. Fly it in cargo separately. Nowadays gun case, fly it separately. Then both in a big duffel for travelling. Does end up weighing a lot.

I'd get a more solid metal one made for cargo luggage use.

Outrageously beautiful to me. What a wonderfully filled finish, perfectly flat, not wavy like a Browning & WTBY plastic finishs.

This rifle is quite lovely. The floorplate case hardening and engraving is superb. I'd go for red stag though. A .275 Mauser / 7x57 perfect.

Wonderful to see the 7x57 rising like a geyser from once being regarded as an obsolete dead cartridge.
