Very cool! I’m restoring a Schutztruppe kar98 for a customer right now, just incredible history in all these weapons. That’s one of the nicest condition examples I’ve seen, thanks for posting.

The United States also had a 'Camel Corps' due, in part, to efforts of (then) Secretary of War Jefferson Davis: Camel Corps Video

One rarely hears of or thinks about the German's in SW Africa. In WW1 they were truly stuck in a far off corner of the world and not numerical in force.
Never considered camels in Namibia, but makes sense.
Thanks for the video posting and photos.

Wow, that is great.
Heia Heia Safari is of course the marching cry of the von Lettow-Vorbeck East African campaign.

we are still close with them and they hold a good connection with the fatherland. german hunting culture is the reason Namibia is on of the best hunting locations in africa today. if namibia is going the way of rhodesian or south africa and drive out the white farmer there will be only ruins left.

I realised the German history and culture of Namibia when I hunted there. Germans in the desert. German language still spoken.
Quite familiar, a lot like my home region the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Except Namibia is a whole lot of desert. I would like to hunt there again and also visit it properly for a long holiday.
Hopefully it continues to be one African country that does not flush itself down the hole like all the others seem to do.
