Re: identifing my husky

I can see only two pictures but according these this rifle looks more like SAKO High Power. If you look carefully you can see text "Finland" in trigger. Another typical details for SAKO is those two small screws in action side panel under rear scope mount.

Re: identifing my husky

It looks like a standard FN commercial Mauser to me. The proofs are Belgian. They were sold with and without sights and some were fitted with Sako triggers.
Sako triggers are nice enough that some of Britain's best gun makers used them on Mauser based bespoke rifles for a while.

What is printed on the barrel?

Re: identifing my husky

Both Husqvarna and SAKO used this same FN action. Husqvarna export modell 3000 looks very similar: http://www.skydevaaben.com/husqvarna/m3000export/info.xml

Re: identifing my husky

Does have a cheek rest and a nice piece of wood but has some crappy checkering which needs to go.happy its an fn action and a sako.i believe this will be my 318 build.all it needs is a barrel which my gunsmith has coming from Walther.i was going to rebarrel my 9x57 but its not drilled and was going to keep it that way

Re: identifing my husky

THESE PHOTOS ARE WAY TOO BIG AND DISRUPT THE THREAD. 1024 PIXELS MAX'M PLEASE OR JUST PROVIDE A LINK TO THEM OFF THE NE SITE.

Try using this site:

Free photo resizing web page

http://www.photosize.com/

A webpage offering free photo resizing. Very large photos distort the forums so a photo or image of approximately 1024 pixels or less wide is advisable.

NE recommends LANDSCAPE images be resized to no more than 1024 pixels in width.

PORTRAIT photos should have a width of less than 1024 as the height of the image will need a lot of scrolling depending on the resultant image height. NE recommends approximately 600 pixels for a PORTRAIT image. Depending on its height.

The webpage works by allowing you to select an oversize image, select its new width in pixels, and then the image to downloaded to your PC. You then need to upload the smaller image to a web image hosting site or other net account.

Re: identifing my husky

Try clicking on these. FN Supreme action. Lack of ID and proof marks below stock line indicate action alone was provided for whoever built the gun.

Re: identifing my husky

ducmarc those are your own pictures. Just removed the "image" text before and after URL so that they could be displayed. The FN action is the best pre-war Mauser action. If the barrel shoots well it should be a good rifle.

Re: identifing my husky

sorry i was being facetious but thank you for fixing them i will try removing the image the next time. at last count i have 7 3006s so this will be the 318 gun although 404 jeffery is tempting

Re: identifing my husky

Late production Husqvarna model 640 barreled action. The stock may not be original, but not sure. The small ring HVA 1640 action came after this model. The 640 used FN commercial receivers.

Matt: The earlier model 640 with thumb cut looks like this. It has barrel banded rear sight and place for sling svivel.:
