Norwegian M-52 Kongsberg Mauser
|
|
This is my ultra rare M-52 Norwegian Kongsberg Mauser. I purchased this while skiing in Norway in the US Marines from my friend and Norwegian ski instructor.I put a Banner Mauser buttplate on as the original pad was dry and no alteration was done to the rifle .

Thank you Igorrock . It took me forever to find information on the M-52 . I finially was able to find a Norwegian website and that is where I uploaded the Norwegian rifle/ Kongsberg hunting advertisement . I have never seen another in the US . The Norwegian captain who sold it to me told me it was never fired . The Kongsberg pad was very hard and the rifle was very long with it on so I removed it and now the length of pull is 13-3/4" which is perfect for me

the kongsberg sporters were made for the domestic market. you dont see them very often outside of norway. interesting scan, I have pics of a kongsberg harpoon gun here http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=129463&an=0&page=0#Post129463

It seems that they made only 452 rifles of this model, in either 3006 or 8*57.
Here you can see which year your rifle was made

Thank you! It looks like 1 of only 2 M/52 rifles made in 1957. I consider myself very fortunate.

Deutsche Vortrekker, Beautiful rifle and I am envious- I had designs on a Kongsberg 393 Sporting Rifle since the M/52s are like winning lottery. The 393 is a beautifully built rifle but a bit too much of a departure from the M-98 for my liking. I assume based on the configuration that the rifle began its life as a K-98 left behind after the occupation- is this correct? Again beautiful rifle and thank you for sharing the photographs,
Kindest regards...

Thanks to all for the kind remarks . I believe by posting pictures it becomes all of our rifle as we share the same love for fine sporting rifles. I have a few " never sell " rifles and the Kongsberg is indeed one of them . CWJ : Yes I also looked at those Kongsberg 393 rifles as they pop up here in the US time to time . They are supposed to be quite accurate but yes I agree are quite a departure from the 98 system
