Gentlemen, In welcoming you back to the forums, here are some pics courtesy my good friend Joel Dorleac. The rifle is his firm's Best Quality Takedown Mauser and there are quite a few pics - I have a description as well following in order. Happy viewing and Good Hunting! |

Glad you like the pics, John. The pleasure is mine. Joel is probably upset by my pestering for pictures of his work all the time. |

The details of the rifle in question were with me for a few days and it is my fault that they did not get posted earlier. In any case, here they are: I also have a reply from Joel which is posted below: Hi Mehul, Indeed, as stated by ozhunter, we use Recknagel components as foundation (only) to make our own front sights. If ozhunter wants a nice search error joke he can point the differences between the original sight as delivered by Recknagel or sold by NECG in USA and the one photographed. When we don't find a convenient "base" part to make the sights wanted or designed by our customer, we machine it. In fact, we try to use the best components available even if we have to modify it to ours standards and that is also true with the action that is "All German Original Mauser components" or the barrel "All German Lothar Walther or Heym component"… But the completed rifle is a true "All Dorleac"…! All the best. Joel Dorleac DORLEAC & DORLEAC www.dorleac-dorleac.com Good hunting, everyone! |
