I saw this one. Unfortunately it looks like the stock has been cut for a recoil pad. Interesting that the only angle not shown is the butt end of the stock.

The butt stock has been squared off, if that is not normal.
It really doesn't look like it's been shortened, though.

Have they tried to strip the varnish off this piece?
Been handled roughly in places, like it was stripped in a great hurry perhaps?
