Lyman 36 parts ? Update

Update. I've got the Mannlicher in hand. It had the base of a Lyman 36 attached. Thanks to PhysDoc's help we have figured out what parts we needed to get the sight to the point that the base will have a blank like you see on some Mausers and Springfields and the lever. The next question we need help wit is: this is the early type with a 10-36tpi stud. Does anyone know what covers the end of the stud when the sight is assembled or is the end of the hollow stud exposed?

Re: Lyman 36 parts ? Update

I have no direct answer to your question as I have never owned and have no 'hands on' experience with the Lyman 36. I just know they look like a great sight and that I've never read anything negative about them.

Perhaps, however, it's time I heed a previous request (by PM) of Waidmannsheil to post a 'catch all' thread of Lyman 36 images and information.

A good 'working title' could be something like... "Lyman 36 - Images and Information" and it could include all images and information that I can find and that other members could submit regarding the Lyman 36 sight.

Motion carried - I'll get right on it.

Here's an image of instructions for mounting:

Thanks. I have that part on the gun. I need to assemble the rest of it.
