Beautifully restocked MS

Someone did a lovely job on this one.
From GunsAmerica: 6.5X54 Restocked
The stock appears to have a significant 'cast on', however. Original Mannlicher Schönauer stocks were 'cast off'.

Old American non-detachable Redfield mounts. An abomination on Mannlicher - Schoenauers, as they make the open sights useless.

I wonder if the owner of the rifle was left handed due to the 'cast on' variation in the stock, but left the cheek piece in the conventional aspect for ascetics only? If that be the case wouldn't it be best to have nil cast on or off for that matter?
I know it is 'fit' that makes a rifle or shotgun much more comfortable to shoot, this stock though really has me scratching my head! Yes timber can warp significantly though if not cured & stored properly, but this one is just not adding up for me!
Beautiful work & timber to say the least!

It's possible it's just distortion from a wide angle camera setting combined with the rifle leaning to the left side.
