Interesting.
Heads-up, though.

That price for the 6.5x54 dies set seems just about double to me, what it should be. I guess they will either sell, or not.

I just paid $35.00 for RCBS Competition Die Set for .22-250. These also look unused, come in a fitted wooden box. The seater is micrometer adjusted. Here, that was a good price for their BR-type dies.

Seems to me retail on Hornady dies is about $35.00 in the States - here they were about $42.00 for standard dies. The 6.5x54 MS is standard run by Hornady.

Just because it is on Ebay people pay the price and think they got a good deal. Their are several dealers selling on Ebay and listing at full retail. People don't bother to look any farther.

Re: M1903 RCBS Dies (NOS) $65.00 Ebay

The only listing I see on Midway for $36 (36.49 actually) is a single neck sizer die w/carbide expander button in 6.5x55 Swede.
I might be missing the 6.5 Mannlicher die set at that price though. If it's there, that would be a terrific price for a set.

On the MIdway site I can find:
6.5 M/S,,the RCBS 2 die set is $64 but out of stock. (Graf & Son $67 but OOS)
The Hornady 2 die set is in stock and priced at $66.59 on sale. (Graf & Son $76 but OOS)
Redding 2 die set is $116,,3 die set is $178 (Graf & Son 2 die set $90)

So the Ebay listing is right about 'retail' for the RCBS dies or about what you can get them from Midway,,if you consider that internet retail.
Graf & Son on-line is a bit more but out of stock.
I don't know what either charges to ship their die sets for.
The Ebay listing is $5.

I've picked up a handful of 6.5 Mannlicher die sets and even one set of 6.5x53R RCBS dies at shows over the years. Always bought them at a very good price and then resold them.
I've always had one set (RCBS) for use and it doubles for both the x54 and x53R calibers and works out fine.

Ebay can be a good source, but as pointed out you do have to do a little homework to make sure you're not over paying for what may be already available from retail sources elsewhere on the intro-net.

Re: M1903 RCBS Dies (NOS) $65.00 Ebay

I have purchased 9 sets of Hornady 'standard' dies, of which the 6.5x54 was listed.

The most I have paid was $42.95. The least was for the .218Bee and .22 hornet dies at $33.95 each - but that was a while back.

The .376 Styer dies were more as I had to order them directly from Hornady - I think they were close to $100.00.

Re: M1903 RCBS Dies (NOS) $65.00 Ebay

The MS dies aren't always 'in stock' these days, and as the ones listed here appear to be brand spankin' new, I thought I'd pass the Ebay listing along.

RCBS makes good stuff. My 9.5X57 (M1910) 2 die set was over $80 new in the late 1980s and has served me well since.

For someone who just purchased an M1903 or recently developed an interest in reloading for one, and does not have ready access to 'gun shows' et. al. these would represent an opportunity.

Besides, one can always contact an Ebay seller (through Ebay) and make an offer for an item listed.
