Mannlicher Schoenauer Uncommon Calibers

I have an opportunity to obtain a couple of M-S rifles: one is in .244 Remington, and the other in .257 Weatherby. I know these are not common, but wonder if anyone has an idea as to the relative scarcity of the two calibers?

Had a 244(6mm Rem) Carbine.Almost all were made in 1959 as far as I know.

There must have been quite a few 257 Roberts made as they appear here in Australia for sale reasonably regularly.

Perhaps that is true. However, the one I am looking at is a .257 Weatherby.

Yes, I didn't read your post properly, sorry. The 257 Weatherby seems to have only been available on the 1958 Magnum model. So quite rare I would say, as most of the magnum models particularly those with .532" bolt face seem to be rare.

Thanks for the input. So it looks as if each chambering was probably done for 1 year or so. Maybe a couple of hundred each??? Or less???

The 244 can be found and is not all that desired. The 257 Weatherby is extremely rare and very desirable.
