Styer barrel Markings

Hoping the Styer experts may solve the meaning of the barrel marking, as follows

0N M 3170 St Lf3.

Appears built around 1965, in calibre 7x64

Re: Styer barrel Markings

ON M3170 is Oestereichische Norm „Laufstähle für Jagdfeuerwaffen“ = Austrian industry standard # M3170, barrel steels for hunting firearms, quality specifications. St(ahl = steel) Lf (Lauf = barrel) #3 (Whatever #3 means?). you may find the Austrian 1977 proof rules here:
http://www.ris.bka.gv.at/Dokumente/BgblPdf/1977_448_0/1977_448_0.pdf
To find out what StLf3 really is, you will have to buy the industry standard here
http://www.beuth.de/de/norm/oenorm-m-3170/7086288
or here
http://www.bdb.at/Service/NormenDetail?id=3619
As I am no metallurgist, I don't care about the exact specs. So I shy away from the cost.

Re: Styer barrel Markings

my Mauser 98 in 9,3x64 made by Voere in Kufstein/Austria for Eduard Kettner in 1973 have also a "Laufstahl 3" barrel

also hope Laufstahl 3 is the best quality
a friend have a 9,3x64 Kettner 98 in a more basic version and his barrel measure 16,9mm on the muzzle. my own barrel measure 14,9mm on the muzzle and when you hold the two rifle side by side it looks very thin.
