I have a Mauser Type B in 8x60mm that I imported several years ago from Sweden. It has game notches on the bottom of the butt stock. Some notches have a circle or point above them. Wondering if anyone might know what these notches represent...i.e. what kind of game? The rifle itself has claw mount bases and is in very good condition, including the bore. I've tried to put up an image using a different image hosting site. Let's hope this works. https://imgbox.com/ZWSyACy4 If you click "continue to your image" hopefully it will. |

mckinney, I was able to see your photograph. That is very interesting. Hopefully someone from Sweden can advise what they represent. Post some pictures for your rifle. |

Nice rifle! Do or will you use '06 or .35 Whelen brass to make brass for it? |

Hi Daryl I have a little vintage 8x60 ammo on hand and some Horneber brass that I will finally be getting after 5+ years. |

Wow, McKinney, that is a beautiful rifle. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Hopefully someone can ID the meaning of the notches. |

Bull alg / moose, from cows or calves is my guess. Or Russians in the Finnish Winter War by some Swedish volunteer. The stars might be officers. |

John, That was a good comment: "Or Russians in the Finnish Winter War by some Swedish volunteer. The stars might be officers." |
