Eurpean Boar and Roedeer/Red Deer Question

I have read that boar kill a significant number of roe and red deer fawns in some areas. Can anyone verify this?

Thats true. Boars are omnivores and do a lot of damage when roe fawns are young.

They kill and eat enormous numbers of lambs in some places around Australia also.

I don't think we have a problem with that in Sweden. They eat dead animals and probably if they step on a Roe kid they will eat it. But I don't think they are specialized in that. I've heard that in some areas in Germany they have Boars that go after the dogs. The Boars have learned that they are possible to eat. They are also more aggressive to humans than other Boars. These herds they try to shoot away. But all you hear isn't true, so I don't really know. /Staffan

My parents used to get between 85-95% lambing but our new niegbours put their lambing ewe's against some forestry and because of the pigs and foxes they got a 30% lambing.

I have seen boars T boning ewe's at full noise and also taking the lamb as it's born.
