Ripp thanks for posting. It is an interesting article and stays to the point of the article. Sure there are lots of other questions and factors to consider and calibres not tested. |

The results are not as expected, by me as I figured the 9mm, being the old "Darling" & the .40S&W being the new one, would however resulted is a test that would show both of them as being superior to the .45. I was surprised and as I noted in my return note to RIPP in E-mail, I wonder how my 'old' bear load would have looked. 260gr.HP Speer, 11.9gr. W630 @ 960fps. One shot broadside at 20 to 25 yards dropped a 300 to 350pound fall-boar in his tracks. The bullet stopped on the off side. I suspect the 10% Geletin might not have stopped this load. |

G'Day Fella's, Thanks for sharing Ripp. An interesting article but, as long as you have a Handgun, and then, are able to shoot it accurately (under STRESS), I believe are the first priorities, then we have the bullets fired. These days, tecnology and engineering have improved terminal bullet performance, for all bullets (Rifle & Handgun). The 9mm with these current bullets, is better than ever before, and the same applies to .357. .40, 44 and .45 calibres. But regardless, all this tecnology won't help the "Spray and Pray" crowd. As I have been saying for a long time now, "For the want of One (or Two Handgun) well aimed shot/s". D'oh! Homer |

Quote: Agree---you wouldn't think it makes the handgun more slippery with pee running down both legs in a stress situation, but seems to have an effect.. Don't care what caliber you shoot..if you can't hit -it won't matter Had a PO tell me years ago--you can't miss fast enough... |

So true. "Action Games" such as IPSC and IDPA help somewhat, in prepping for higher stress levels during firing. PPC and other benign stand-up or bench shooting regimes help very little. Stress of actually being under-fire, is something else again. Never been there, hope I never am, but "think" I am slightly better prepared than many or most 'Sunday' Shooters. |

G'Day Fella's, Thank You and I agree, Daryl and Ripp. The best non lethal "Stress Tester" I have xperienced, is a round of Paint Ball competition. You get to experience the feeling of a "Two Way Range", but not the blood shed, etc. Avagreatweekendeh! Homer |
