High Standard Model B

Thought I would post some pictures of a High Standard Model B I picked up a few years ago. Came with box, instruction card, 2 mags, and original receipt. The barrel has lead wire wrapped around it. I am not sure if that was a done in the factory or some time after purchased. Would be curious if anyone has seen a barrel like this or can provide any information on it.

Re: High Standard Model B

I've always been a fan of High Standard and have owned several. My best guess is the wire wrap was added after purchase to the barrel to give it weight and balance which helped steady the gun when target shooting.

Me too. Nice find!
Looks like lead-core fishing line, stained black.

A great pistol and an innovative way to add heft. Enjoy it.
