Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

Website link. Details to follow. My guess is that they would release it at the IWA show that is currently underway. Only in 357 Mag for now, though some might ask for classic calibers, I'm guessing . . .

Yes I have known about it for eight months or so.

Remember the "Handgun of the Empire" threads I was running in 2014. Will need to resurrect it.

Cool! I wonder if it will be chambered in the .455 Webley Mk.II?

The Anderson Wheeler Mk VII will be available in the modern .357 Magnum cartridge. I think that chambering will prove very useful in a modern version of the model.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

A pair of these revolvers are nearly complete as accoutments to the purdey 200 year battery of 9. To be engraved on similar lines with like serial numbers.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

Yes Ahmed, I think they will go perfectly with your collection. How have you ordered them to be done, any particular engraving or design to match any of the Purdeys?

Looking forward to seeing them and the whole collection one day.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

NitroX tradional Purdey rose and scroll with some carving(to match as far as possible the carved breech ends on the purdeys) . To coincide serial numbers 31357R & 31357L for left & right holsters. This follows on from the PURDEY numbers being 31 followed by the calibre or bore i-e 31300,31500 etc.

Two Anderson Wheeler advertisements (the first image features an older service revolver) for their upcoming Anderson Wheeler Mk VII Revolver in .357 Magnum. Wholly made by Anderson Wheeler in the UK.

I wonder if they are out yet. Stuart A-W said NE would get the pics before anyone else.

I am keen to see these new handguns. And also Ahmed's when they are done.

Ha ha, I like it, LEFT and RIGHT holsters.

I just received an email from them, the list price was "only" £6500. Apparently they're hand made on the thighs of Cuban virgins, out of unobtainium.

Expensive but nice. Wouldn't mind one in 455 if I ad the money.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

If you just have to have one of these, it sounds to me like investing in a nice conditioned original 455 with a bit of patina would be a much better option. JMO

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

I speak to Stuart Anderson-Wheeler about once or twice per year. Last time about a year ago (?) there was supposed to be some news out in 2017. Haven't heard it come out officially. A change in the company. The handgun was planned still then and in the "works". Will drop him a line.

A couple were ordered by a member here.

The Anderson-Wheeler Mk VII were being made in .357 Magnum.

There are other threads on these forums.

They offer anything you may wish for. Grips horn bone leather or wood. Engraving and engraver of your choice.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

RLI, I sent an email to Stuart asking for a catchup. Will mention your interest. I think they get a lot of interest from the internet. Perhaps a phone call would work better.

Ahmed, can't wait to see yours.

I like the look of them plain, but for the price, some engraving or scroll work probably does not go amiss. Interested to see what you decided to have done.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

One of those in .45 LC - or .45 ACP would be a PLUS.

I know for a fact that 230gr. HB at 850fps will anchor a big black bear - side of the head/dead.

Another .45 ACP load that works on side chest shots, if 260gr. Speer HP, 11.9gr.W630 - 960fps and DEAD side chest shot.

A Winch. M94, .45 Colt pushes that one out at 1,960fps, using RP brass, the strongest web in the industry.

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

Thanks John for your help, yes I prefer the plain look but a little bit of scroll here and there might just add to it , as for grips checkered and walnut but being a bespoke revolver you have to think a bit about the options , totally different options to a double! Oh well nice problem to have ..........I was thinking the cartridge .357 Magnum being American could be made a bit British like Rigby called the 7x57 Mauser the 275 Rigby maybe the "357 Accelerated Express" would work? any way it will not put me off this great revolver!!

Re: Anderson Wheeler Announce a Mk VII style revolver

I just spoke to Stuart Anderson-Wheeler and we had a good chat about the revolver and the old Webley 455 models and I was impressed he knows his Webleys! He is sending me a email with all the options anything from a working revolver to high grade! He said three have been ordered from Australia so mine will be the fourth!
