More photos after Christmas as I have asked them not to send with the Christmas rush.
The 470NE has manageable recoil but my friend says the 600 is also manageable providing you don't double discharge...

The large action in comparison to the standard size;
With the intercepting Sears this rifle weighs 11lbs
Bellow targe is off hand at 60m . As the sights are set for the six o'clock hold I will need to file the V down about 1mm to suit my preferred sight picture;

Should be quite comfortable to shoot at that weight. My .450 Jeffery is (correction) 13 1/4 lbs (not 11 3/4 lbs). Heavy but comfortable to shoot. Most of the time I no longer find carrying it heavy as I am used to it.

Very nice.
I must say that I am very impressed with the Verney- Carron rifles. Their craftsmanship is extraordinary. I visited their exhibition at the Huntex show 2 weeks ago and handled a few of their double rifles, they just feel right in one's hands. The highlight was when I held the 700NE. It was still in the white and without any engraving, already it was a beautiful piece -but believe me it is very heavy.

Would expect another twenty years. It's quite tough! Taken thousands of 9.3, 375, 40cal, 425, 458 , 470 est.
