Beautiful guns !!!!!! Interesting how the Purdy shotgun barrels are positioned in the case, one is on it’s side and the other is resting barrels upright. Usually both are the same? I bet there’s a story there, still beautiful guns !!!!!!!! Robert

Wow - never seen these rifles before either! What a great pair to have in a battery. That exquisite engraving just tops it all off nicely. As to the guns, they are certainly the equal of those rifles in quality without a shadow of a doubt Thanks for sharing these truly magnificent pieces

Those are all beautiful guns. And the stocks are all clearly chosen with strong grain to give guns built for a century or two or long service life. The beauty is in the overall form and function of the gun. I do like nice wood, but am not convinced the current fascination with really fancy stockwood adds anything to a fine gun - just a matter of time before a restock is needed.
All of these guns look as if they were built to be used, and judging from the patina, they certainly have been.
