Article: Taps for the Great Pondoro

I got this article in the a First Edition Copy of Pondoro I thought that you guys and gals might be interested. Note the author, Jaques Lott, later changed to just plain Jack. One of the all time experts on Big Bores.

Re: Article: Taps for the Great Pondoro

These kind of articles add a few more tidbits to the John Taylor legacy. There are quite a few people that have reported to have met Taylor along the way (Sanchez, Marsh, etc.), but no one seems to have known him very well. That may have been due to Taylor himself. Capstick's book seems to be mostly speculation and hot air.

The kicker in all this is his "Dr." brother, who, along with everyone else, apparently turned a cold shoulder to him when he was destitute in the years before his death in London.

At least Taylor's books cement for all time his big game hunting and big bore rifle legacy.
