Why?
Because having one barrel is having just half a rifle.

When you see an elephant like this you want to carry, at least, a 700NE.

If I saw an Ele like that one, I'd hock my home, and grand kids to pay the daily, and trophy fee! If there was ever a target for a fine double, this is an example of the first order! MY dream, but alas.............
What do you think his teeth will weigh?

Mac
That is Ahmed of Marsibit Nat'l park in Kenya. He is gone now, natural causes. I think the ivory was 170-180 the side. For the last 30 years of his life he had a 24-7 group of Game Rangers protecting him.

His master tusk (his left one) seems to be about 2.30 meters long and, for sure, it's more than 100 pounds, something around 120 pounds.

We don't need a reason to have a double rifle but when you see something like that it would give you a good feeling to have a 500+ Double in your hands.
