Hi NitroX I have been "lurking" (I think that's what it's called in Form speak) for a long while now. Time for a post. Where can I get this rifle? Perfect balance, low powered scope with claw mounts. Fire a shotshell, in extremis of course. What's not to like? Also my name is Adrian Hollis and I have one Son. Gotta be right eh? "A Hollis and Son" on a bore rifle? Come on.. Get me one NOW! Ade |

Welcome to Nitro Express Ade! I hope you get more time in conversation with our fellow members here. On this Hollis - I don't know where it is or if it's for sale. Perhaps NitroX will chime in with a contact or the story on the rifle. Good to have you in the membership. I look forward to seeing what you bring to the site. Cheers Tinker |

Quote: Ade Welcome to the NE forums. Alas that photo composition would have been from a auction or selling site and as it was in 2003, it would be long gone. Perhaps knowing some guns, two or three owners over a 10 year period! I could try to look up where it was advertised but it won't help. If you want something similar you will have to review the guns for sale sites, gunmakers selling vintage stock etc until something may appear. Sorry to not be able to help. Put up a WANTED TO BUY Classified up too on NE. You can use the photo above if you want to illustrate what you are looking for. Keep it fresh every 3 months or so, so it doesn't get deleted. Good luck. I agree, It is a nice gun. Re your name, my Grandfather's shotgun was a Hollis too, Damascus barrels with hammers, but it was a cheapie, and unfortunately not in good condition, from being stored in farm sheds for decades. |

Hi Chaps Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm in the process of working out how to post pictures. I'm thinking I'll send some of my Double with a short bio about how she came to me. Where do you recommend I post? Ade |

I just clicked on to this thread and nearly spilt my beer.I know exactly where that rifle is. Left hand side of the safe sixth rifle in. It has invisible rifling a 15" LOP stock 1/4" cast or enough cast to shoot around corners. but it fits me. left & right 25yds and 50 yds one ragged hole. both triggers are turned to suit a right handed shooter and those photos dont do the wood justice the ejectors really throw the empties a long way and I have owned it since 2003. all the best sbs470 |

sbs470, From what I can see in the posted pictures that is quite the stunning piece of wood with what looks to be some nice grain heading towards the wrist. If it isn't too much of a problem would you be so kind as to post a better picture of the stock? A fine piece of walnut on a quality firearm is a tough combination to beat, pretty women aside ... for the moment. Mark |
