With much help from 400 Nitro, I found and purchased a sound, original 400/360 Evans. We looked at 4-5 400/360s before settling on this one. It pays to have help from friends who know what to look for. 400 Nitro, NE 450No2, my buddy and I went to the range and tried various combinations finally settling for the day on 53grs 4350 behind the 270 Speer. That load gave us 2020 fps and a 2 inch group at 50 yards. I'll do more develop but we noticed whatever the load the gun was remarkably consistent. I need to get custom dies made as the neck is longer and the chamber a bit tighter than standard ( if there is a standard). I'm looking forward to Deer and Hogs this fall. |

470evans, Well done, good find - I know how hard they are to come by and why people keep hold of them. Interstingly, after you started looking for one I was contacted about mine (WR Droplock) - I think the 400/360 is one of the most underated calibres out - after the 450/400. Have god fun with it. 500 Nitro |
