Westley Richards double
|
|
I bought a nice 1890 577/500 no 2 Westley a few weeks ago at an auction. I've never seen any WR double that didn't have thier signature triangular top lever. Has anyone seen a WR with a top lever like this one?

WR used their parent 'C-bolt' locking as well as the style of your gun.

The c bolt style is the only one that I've ever seen on a WR.

I had one once which had that style of lever. It had a Greener cross-bolt in addition to double under-bites.

I have a WR 12 gauge scalloped action BLE from the 1960s with that style of top lever. Very nicely finished gun, but I was surprised at the absence of the standard WR top lever when I saw the photos before I purchased it.
