Found some price data on one of my PCs (have 3) for Brno doubles and it looks somewhat more affordable than others I would consider (eg Merkel). I would be keen to get one in 458WM as I would "need" a group 2 double ("Big Game Rifle" classification) - just an excuse to buy another rifle really. I've been using reduced loads in my 500NE but 458 components are much easier to come by, and I can get "ready rolled" off-the-shelf cast projectiles in 458, just for mucking around with. I'm not sure if the Brno's are available in Australia - I'd have to check with Winchester/Olin. Has anyone either got a Brno double or had experience with one and can provide feedback? |

Hi Mauserand9mm, I had one in 375H&H and it was a good functional rifle, and shot reasonably well. I have not seen or heard of one in 458. The only problems I have heard of was a base model, so if you get one make sure it is one of the higher grades. They don't have the pizazz of an english double, but they are a good strong action. I thought they were only made in O/U. I prefer the look of a S/S but it's not a mandatory requirement in this case. LesLeeSpeed - did yours have ejectors and one or two triggers? |

Mine was an U/O, two triggers, rear trigger with set option, ejectors. They are a pretty robust rifle, but a little clunky in feel. Les |
