I find it really interesting how Marcello has taken the images from his cape buffalo studies/artwork and placed them over the various surfaces of the Verney-Carron rifle. An eye here, part of two duelling bulls boss to boss here, etc.

I must say I'm impressed with the Verney-Carron offerings after handling them and discussing them with Ken Buch last weekend. It appears that this company will accommodate most any desire at a reasonable price and in a reasonable delivery time.
There are quite a few choices of how the action is to be filed, what caliber to make, as well as stock design. The actions appear to be quite strong and well fit. Ken's enthusiasm is contagious.
If I were in the market for a current production DR I would seriously consider this maker. Or shall I say When I find myself in the market. . . (Ken and I had a very interesting discussion about a proposed V-C rifle in .22 Savage HP with an extra set of .303 Brit. barrels.)

Let me tell you how truly sick this is. Ken wanted photos of a Westley Richards double rifle for V-C to use as a pattern for just this project. I told him to help himself to the photos of my WR .303 previously posted here on NE.com at this link.

This side by side 'Azur Safari Eloge' double rifle from 'L'Atelier Verney-Carron' (Verney-Carron custom and bespoke workshop) is in caliber .500, weigh about 5kg (11 pounds) and is priced at about 40 000$.

I just found out that the factory will be shipping me this gun in December so that it will be available for the safari shows in January. The gun can be seen in person at the Dallas and Houston Safari Club shows and of course at the SCI show in Reno.
Look for the Verney-Carron booth and please stop by and say hello.

I was just admiring this rifle again, having found it again searching for something else. And was guessing how it was priced at. The price Jean mentions below is below what I was thinking, compared to some other gunmaker's commissioned works I have recently seen. For a person with the right bank balance that price represents a very good guy for such a beautiful rifle.
