Henry Atkin Duckgun for sale in 450/400 nitro ex

http://www.lauritz.com/Item/Item.aspx?La...944167EndTagRU#

Never seen such a doublerifle before. I picture #5 one can observe the barrelflats are protruding on the BSW suhl duck-engraved action. I would have expected Mr Atkin for better actionwork

I would also have excpected the quality of wood to be better, of any working gun, from the british isles..even if it were just a circusgun
The crossbolt is also way too small for the greener extension head..

IMHO this is a composed "parts" rifle. Some bloke had the barrels only from a H.Atkin dr and crudely fitted them to the action of a humble BSW shotgun. Very likely somewhat dangerous to shoot contraption!

... and the auction house figures $8k euros for that club. As my sainted grandmother would say, "no friggin way, Jose!"

I'd bid $100 American, but that's pretty high for junk.

What I find distressing is that the auction house does not mention one word in the description that the only thing that is Atkin's is a set of tubes and that the balance of what you are getting is a $200 Simson/BSW shotgun in only so-so condition.

Lauritz.com is an auctionhouse located many different places around Denmark. Today I heard that, that particular gun was actually tried to be sold here close to us in Helsingør( read town of Shakespears Hamlet)..but they rejected it, because the seller apparently wanted to have that gun sold as a "Henry Atkin" doublerifle. The seller has pushed his luck, and founded an auctionhouse that "went for it".. . It is false advertizing, and must likely I am sure the transaction will go back. A set of old barrels is something like those is maybe £500 on an 100£ action.
