I don't speak/read Italian but it looks like it says the gun is Purdey Express, external hammer, under lever in 450/400 2-7/8 for 1500 Euro.

How about I fly over there and buy it. For that price, even throwing in the airfare from the USA, the gun would be a real bargain. Remember the old saying - if it's too good to be true, then it probably is! Buyer beware.

That's a nice rifle. Very similar to my .500BPE, but a little more elaborately engraved. It would make someone a fine hunting rifle.

I emailed the first web site.
The reply was.
The adverts for guns on it are from just anyone, not the company and you contact the owner directly via whatever method is listed (I didn't look so not sure what methods
are listed).
As someone said, "if it's too good to be true, then it probably is!"
And it's turned out that not all the info is up there
on the first advert !!!

Sorry for the waste of time chaps, for a moment I thought the crisis had really started to have its effect!!!

Oddly........
Doubles do come up on this site, last year or rather, a couple of years ago there was a 12 bore in great nick and another dr in 500 express, chap wanted 5000e a piece.
Also, though all I could ever do is copy pics for you lot, the gun mags here have some doubles sometimes AND very affordable spingarda's.....which are punt guns.
Armi mercato is one of the best mags.
Note that on armiusate.it someone is selling a Holland royal double rifle.

How easy is it to bring one of these back to the States? What paperwork needs to be done and how long does it take? I am currently working in Belgium with the expectation of returning to Texas in a month or so.

Its not that bad, bringing guns in if not pre-1890 examples is a trifle harder! Times vary depending upon gun type and caliber. Let me know and I can find out specifically for you as I must go in to the questura(police head quarters) and find out something myself shortly.
Is there anything interesting in Belgium?
