Re: Hollywood turret press

Is this press the later Hollywood turret presses with the 8 hole turret with tie bar (for swaging) and the ~2" steel shaft? If so, it is the finest vintage press (a Rolls Royce of presses).

I have had 2 hollywood turret presses. The first had a cast iron frome with 12 hoke turrret that cracked under load (swaging brass). Well, it was about 60 years old when it failed. It was used for some heacy work. Before I bought it, it had been used at a gun range.

The second and latest Hollywood turret press is an 8 station press with a 2" solid steel center shaft that is a delight to use. It is a very accurate, percise, and strong. I would not hesitate to use it for swaging bullets (of course, using the swaging bar). As you can expect, it is a heavy press.

All that being said, $500 is a fair price for a Hollywood turret press.

Re: Hollywood turret press

It’s an 8 hole and comes with the tie bar
I have some of the 12 gauge dies I might part with

Re: Hollywood turret press

Photos please. I am definitely interested.

There is another one on Accurate Shooter board but is is the vertical slide type, not a round column and it does not have a tie bar. Looks like the cast aluminum version.

Sounds like yours could be the round column type.

A mix of 7/8 and larger holes?

Thanks
