I really like Hornady dies. You can use the seater die for any .17 cal. Ctg.

Re: WTB 17 Hornet dies

The only 17 Hornet dies that I'm seeing anywhere are on gunbroker for over $150 for the set.
They retail at $40

I'm hoping to find a set at non-robbery price.

Re: WTB 17 Hornet dies

I saw a set of 17 Hornet dies a couple weeks ago. I can check back this week, see which ones (17 Hornady or the older 17 Ackley)they are and what he wants for them.

Re: WTB 17 Hornet dies

The AH case is slightly longer with slightly longer body & has a narrower, smaller diameter shoulder.

Thus, .17 HH (Hornady Hornet)dies can be used to load the Ackley Version, but the reverse is not
totally acceptable due to overworking the shoulder area. Length adjustment is easy.
.17AH
A Wilson hand die set, used with an arbor press would be totally acceptable as they are necking dies only.
The plus with these dies, is different bushings are used for different makes of brass and the (I feel) superior
RP brass (in the Hornet) can be used with a .188" neck bushing.
.190" or .191" bushing is used for WW brass.

Now I'm looking for 17 Remington brass

Anything would be helpful
